About Us
Aldgate Freedom Foundation was founded in 1883 and is governed by a Charity Commission Scheme. Our objectives are to provide financial assistance to those in need in a very defined area of benefit - Portsoken Ward in the City of London. We also contribute to maintaining the churchyard adjoining the parish church of St Botolph to provide an open space for the use of public.

The charity has a limited amount of funds available for grant awards. Applicants must be resident or work in Portsoken Ward. Priority is given to the following:

-
The elderly;
-
The chronically disabled and long-term sick of any age;
-
Single parents with dependent children;
-
The homeless.

Trustees meet three times a year to consider applications. Find out if you are eligible and how to apply by visiting our Grants pages.
